AUK invites you to the Research Seminar “Opinion Dynamics on Social Media” with Eckehard Olbrich, senior researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences (MPI MiS) leading a group on computational social science.
Eckehard Olbrich has a PhD in theoretical physics and has been working on several aspects of complex systems theory, such as information decomposition, complex networks, game theory, and mathematical modelling of social dynamics and communication with a focus on data analysis. Currently he is also the coordinator of the HORIZON Europe project "Social media for democracy - Understanding the Causal Mechanisms of Digital Citizenship".
During the seminar he will present work within the HORIZON Europe projects ODYCCEUS (Opinion dynamics and cultural conflicts in European Spaces, odycceus.eu) and SoMe4Dem (Social media for democracy - understanding the causal mechanisms of digital citizenship, some4dem.eu). In particular, he will introduce two specific models: the social feedback model and the argument communication model.
