My internship started in June at the international company Doka and lasted till the end of the summer.

It sounds like not a lot of time but this period gave me the biggest amount of knowledge and experience I could ever have within a timeframe like that.

You discover how the international company operates, have a chance to talk to the whole executive team, and gain experience from the leading global company in its field!

If I were asked whether to spend another summer like this, there would be no room for hesitation.

One of the best bits of advice I’ve ever received in life is that growth is never convenient, it’s scary and uncomfortable. And when my first day of the internship came, it was exactly what I felt. But let me tell you it was the best day of my life so far, even if I didn’t know it or realize it at that time. The knowledge, the experience, and especially the people that I met here are immeasurable in value. Every experience, and emotion that I have been through here is priceless and really special to me. Therefore, it is imprinted in my heart and will be cherished forever.

And that’s the reason why I am beyond grateful to Dan, to the AUK team for making this happen, and to Doka, and my supervisor Marcelo for everything they did for me and taught me as there are no words that would describe this feeling.

AUK Global Internship program is an invaluable chance for me to understand how organizations of such scale work. The most important thing was that we were not doing just some useless work, but we were given many real-life projects that were getting implemented in the process.

Despite working and learning we not only explored American culture in all the possible ways but also tried to tell our story too. For example, we organized an art exhibition at our company with Ukrainian food and art that shows who we are as a nation and what we are going through now, in times of war in our country.

I'm thrilled about my internship in HR Department at Doka, as it provides me with the opportunity to apply what I’ve learned in university to real-world work experience.

Being based in New Jersey means that New York City is just a stone's throw away, allowing me to explore and immerse myself in American culture. Additionally, we had the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C., where touring the White House and Pentagon gave us a deeper understanding of how America operates and reinforced the support we feel here.

In my role, I focus on analyzing and collecting employee data, which helps identify areas for improvement within the organization.

My internship in the US was an unforgettable experience that significantly broadened my professional horizons. I met many wonderful people and learned a great deal of relevant information in my field of software engineering.
