AUK Professor Valeriy Kolesnikov represented AUK at the IEEE International Conference on Automatics and Informatics (ICAI) in Bulgaria

At the international conference held on October 8–10 in Bulgaria, American University Kyiv Professor Valeriy Kolesnikov presented a research paper co-authored with AUK students Kateryna Abramova and Maksym Ovcharenko.

Their paper, titled "Hazard-Aware Routing to Civil Protection Shelters Using Dijkstra’s Algorithm and Multi-Layer Geospatial Graphs," sparked significant interest among international colleagues and opened avenues for future collaborative research projects.

Key Outcomes of Prof. Kolesnikov’s Participation in the Summit:

• International Knowledge Sharing: Prof. Kolesnikov invited several leading international researchers to deliver guest lectures on artificial intelligence for AUK students.
• Recognition and Leadership: Valeriy Kolesnikov chaired one of the conference’s scientific sessions and was invited to join the organizing committee for next year’s IEEE ICAI.
• Strategic Partnerships: During a meeting with Conference Chair Prof. Nikola Nikolov, Prof. Kolesnikov toured the specialized automated computer laboratories at the Technical University of Varna.

The IEEE International Conference on Automatics and Informatics (ICAI) is traditionally held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria during the John Atanasoff Days every October. The conference brings together international researchers and industry practitioners interested in the development and implementation of modern technologies in automation, information systems, computer science, artificial intelligence, and related fields.

We sincerely thank Professor Valeriy Kolesnikov and our student research team for their breakthrough work and valuable contribution to the safety technologies of the future!
