AUK invites you for AUK Talks #18 with Ambassador Michael Carpenter, United States Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in the Biden administration.
Ambassador Carpenter worked in the White House as a special advisor for Europe and Eurasia to then-Vice President Biden and as director for Russia at the National Security Council. From 2015 to 2017, he served in the Pentagon as deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine, Eurasia, and Conventional Arms Control. On June 23, 2021, President Joe Biden nominated Carpenter as U.S. Representative to OSCE, with rank of Ambassador. On November 29, 2021, he assumed office as ambassador after presenting his credentials to OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid.
During AUK Talks we will talk on the role of international organizations and the OSCE in countering russia and holding it responsible for its crimes against Ukraine and other issues.
