American University Kyiv and UN Global Compact Network Ukraine have signed a Declaration on Educational Partnership
At American University Kyiv, we aim to prepare professionals who combine high-level expertise with a deep sense of responsibility for the impact of their decisions on society and the environment. Signing this Educational Partnership Declaration is a key milestone in reinforcing sustainability and ESG principles across our academic programs.
"By collaborating with responsible businesses, we aim to empower our students to transform these principles into tangible solutions for long-term development in Ukraine and beyond," highlighted Igor Lysiutin, Acting Vice President at AUK.
As Ukrainian companies actively integrate ESG standards into their business models, the demand for skilled specialists already exceeds market supply. Ukraine’s integration into the EU is rapidly reshaping requirements across all sectors — from large corporations to SMEs. ESG expertise is becoming critical for compliance with EU regulations, making cooperation between universities and business essential for preparing competitive talent.
Initiatives like the Universities Tour ESG 360° bridge the gap between higher education and the job market. As part of this collaboration, AUK students and faculty recently attended an open lecture by experts from the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine — the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative.

During the session, students explored:
- What ESG really means and how it functions in real-world business
- Which skills companies are seeking right now and their market value
- Career opportunities and growth trajectories within the expanding ESG field
Together, through multi-stakeholder dialogue, international cooperation, and practical lifelong learning, we build a sustainable and resilient future for Ukraine.
