Oksana Ilienko represented AUK at a Major NAQA Dialogue Platform in Lviv
On June 4, 2026, Lviv hosted one of the most significant events in the Ukrainian higher education sector — the "University_Is_People" dialogue platform, organized by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA). Held at the Lviv Polytechnic National University, the event brought together approximately 400 in-person participants representing 118 higher education institutions from across the country. American University Kyiv (AUK) was represented at this strategic forum by Oksana Ilienko, Head of the Academic Policy Department.

The dialogue platform served as a powerful forum for sharing best practices and addressing the most pressing challenges of modern university management amidst the complexities of martial law and European integration. The event was moderated by NAQA leadership, including NAQA Head Andrii Butenko and Deputy Heads Nataliia Stukalo and Ivan Nazarov.

Leading industry experts focused on updating the criteria for the accreditation of educational programs. Key speakers emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between formal requirements—such as academic publications and international internships—and the tangible, practical competencies of faculty members, a principle that fully aligns with European quality standards.

The academic community reached a collective consensus: fostering a corporate environment that comprehensively stimulates the growth of every employee is the cornerstone of institutional capacity and the global competitiveness of a modern university.
AUK’s participation in the "University_Is_People" platform underscores our institution’s active integration into the national landscape of higher education quality assurance. It further highlights AUK’s unwavering commitment to synchronizing its internal policies with the best Ukrainian and international academic practices.
