American University Kyiv joined “Innovation Bootcamp: Turning Ideas into Effective GovTech Solutions,” hosted by Global Government Technology Centre in Kyiv

This event brought together government, business, education, and technology leaders to discuss how to empower digital innovators in creating impactful public solutions and to explore ways to educate professionals for next-generation digital services in the public sector.

Oleksii Shershnov, Vice President of American University Kyiv, was a panelist in the discussion titled “Innovative Education 3.0: How Business and Government Can Train the Next Generation of Digital Innovators,” moderated by Ruslana Korenchuk, CEO of Diia.Education and CDTO Campus.

Participants engaged in discussions about the shift from theory to practice in GovTech education, emphasizing the importance of learning through real public-sector challenges and the vital role that universities, business schools, and the corporate sector play in developing future-ready skills.

The conversation also addressed the challenges of preparing digital innovators for the public sector, highlighting digital leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, practice-based learning, piloting culture, and human-centered approaches as essential enablers of innovation.

The Innovation Bootcamp serves as a learning and experimental platform within the GovTech Lab Ukraine open innovation programme, where teams of public servants and startups work together on public-sector challenges in urban development, automatic legal advice for citizens, and transparent tourism management.
