American University Kyiv started cooperation with The Opole University of Technology (OUTech)
The partnership agreement's main points include the establishment of a double diploma system, researcher internships, and joint scientific and innovative projects. Jacek Leskow, AUK Rector, also emphasizes the importance of the Erasmus Plus project, especially in the field of information technology and science.
Both sides found interest in topics related to the technological challenges posed to science as a result of the ongoing war.
"We are opening a project at the university, financed by private American entities, concerning the use of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis of diseases, especially war trauma,” explains Jacek Leskow. He also highlights the importance of image analysis in light of the fact that approximately 20% of Ukraine's territory is currently mined. According to him, data processing performed by artificial intelligence can speed up the demining process, which would take many more years with traditional methods.
"We are deeply proud to extend our academic cooperation with with The Opole University of Technology. This partnership will be a great step towards joint scientific and innovative projects, as well as strengthening our Polish-Ukrainian connections," stressed Jacek Leskow, PhD, AUK Rector.
