AUK Campus celebrates its 2nd anniversary!
Two years ago, the former River Port building opened its doors to students of American University Kyiv. Since then, it has been a cutting-edge, tech-enabled learning environment for students, a meeting place for renowned speakers, and a hub for research and innovation.
This is a place where history intertwines with modernity. An architectural landmark with its unique frescoes and a student space where academic and student life is actively raging.
And today the AUK team recalled what it was like to repair and restore an abandoned and severely damaged building under air alarms and shelling. Together, we thanked all the people, architects, designers, builders, and the AUK operations team who contributed to creating today's comfortable learning space.
"As you probably know, the River Port building is designed in the shape of a ship. For us, as for the university, this is an incredibly important symbol. After all, this is where our students start their immensely thrilling path toward self-discovery, new inventive knowledge, and the development of new academic peaks.
It is also symbolic that this journey takes place on the banks of the Dnipro River, which has always connected Kyiv with the global world and was itself this global world for many," emphasized Maryna Sukhinina, AUK Operations Director.
We sincerely thank the entire team, investors, partners, and students, thanks to whom a new generation of future leaders of Ukraine is growing within these walls!
