AUK Leadership Club with Vadym Shekman: Trust, Leadership, and the Future of Medicine

AUK Leadership Club with Vadym Shekman: Trust, Leadership, and the Future of Medicine

AUK Leadership Club hosted a highly valuable and insightful meeting of AUK students and alumni with Vadym Shekman, ex-CEO of the Dobrobut, one of the most prominent healthcare leaders in Ukraine.

AUK President Dan Rice has opened the discussion having outlined the global context, international challenges in saving and growing human capital in the world.

Addressing AUK students, Vadym Shekman shared his vision of the transformation of medicine, spoke about the challenges of medical education, formation of leaders in the industry, the impact of intercultural communication, the difference between the Ukrainian and American systems, and AI’s role in the future of medicine.

He also emphasized the differences of the American business culture — horizontality and openness to the opinions of each employee — as a model that is gradually being implemented in Ukraine.

When asked by students what skills they should develop to remain competitive in the market, Mr. Shekman noted: leadership, flexibility, and the ability to work with modern artificial intelligence tools.

AUK team thanks to Dr. Ivan Vyshnyvetskyy, Managing Director of FutureMeds in Ukraine, Chairman of the Ukrainian Association of Clinical Research, and AUK Master's graduate, for his excellent moderation of the discussion.
