One of the largest international forums in Eastern Europe, the 10th Kyiv International Economic Forum 2024 took place in Kyiv and brought together representatives of business, government and society to discuss key economic issues and global trends.
The Forum's main theme was the slogan: "The Power of Challenge: Factors Shaping the Future of Ukraine and the World". State and business representatives, members of the international community, and top economists had fruitful and future-looking discussions.
AUK President Dan Rice participated in the panel "From Resilience to Unity: The Power of Leadership" where military, educators, clergy and business joined forces to discuss how to strengthen the resilience of communities and unite them around a sense of trust to make them and the country stronger. In particular, among the speakers of the panel were:
- Zoya Lytvyn, Founder of NGO OSVITORIA and the Novopecherska School;
- Metropolitan Borys Gudziak (online), Archbishop of Philadelphia and Metropolitan for the Ukrainian Catholic Church in the USA;
- Vsevolod Kozhemyako, Founder of Agrotrade Group, commander of the Volunteer Unit "Khartiya";
- Olena Zubchenko, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board at Sense Bank;
- Serhiy Zhadan, Writer, soldier of "Khartiya" brigade.
The discussion was moderated by Marichka Padalko, Presenter of TSN and 1+1 Marathon.
During his speech, Dan Rice emphasized,
"Ukraine has repeatedly shown the world the kind of leadership that President Ronald Reagan talked about while he was president of the United States. This is when each person feels his personal responsibility for the country. During his inaugural address in 1981, Reagan mentioned World War I soldier Martin Treptow, who wrote the crucial words, "America must win this war. Therefore, I will work, I will save, I will sacrifice, I will endure, I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the issue of the whole struggle depended on me alone".
This vivid example represents every Ukrainian soldier who faithfully defends his country. And paraphrasing Treptow and Reagan, I want to say the following – Ukraine will win, and it is inevitable."
