Two graduate students from AUK-ASU were honored this year with Thunderbird School of Global Management Awards: Andrii Korol, AUK Regional Development Director, and Yakym Yermak, an IoRM Assistant at NATO in Ukraine, who received the Dean's Circle Award.
Graduating students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, enhanced the educational experience for their peers, and left a lasting impact on the institution are given the Dean's Circle Award.
At the online graduation ceremony, Yakym Yermak and Andrii Korol, who received Thunderbird Awards, expressed their thanks and their impressions.
"I am deeply grateful to Arizona State University and our Thunderbird School for the chance to interact with exceptional professors, study global issues that impact the global economy, and study alongside students from around the world, as well as to immerse yourself in academic knowledge based on the most recent research. For our cohort, it was also once-in-a-lifetime chance to serve as honorary ambassadors for Ukraine and to educate the world about our nation!”, emphasized Andrii Korol, AUK-ASU graduate, Dean’s Circle Award Laureate during the online graduation ceremony.
"A theory says any meaningful speech should consist of calls to action. First one, be grateful. Think about the people without whom you wouldn't be here. Maybe your parents, your partner, or your children who motivated you. Maybe your workplace which saw the potential in you. Or as in my case, a case of hundreds of millions of Europeans to be grateful to thousands of Ukrainian men and women who are fighting and defending European land, sky, sea, values, freedom, and give us the possibility to vote and study”, summed up Yakym Yermak, AUK-ASU graduate, Dean’s Circle Award Laureate.
