AUK hosted the International scientific conference "Information Technology - New Horizons (ITNH 2024)" on the AUK Campus

On October 22–23, EPAM School of Digital Technologies of AUK hosted the International scientific conference "Information Technology - New Horizons (ITNH 2024)" on the AUK Campus.

The two-day event brought together leading international scientists, such as Rick Kazman, Professor at University of Hawaii, IEEE Computer Society Board of Governors, Visiting Scientist at SEI Carnegie Mellon University, Len Bass, Adjunct Faculty at Carnegie Mellon University, Gennady Andrienko, Lead scientist at Fraunhofer IAIS, Sankt Augustin and adjunct professor at City University, London, Oleksandr Romanko, SS&C Technologies Canada, University of Toronto, American University Kyiv.

With an emphasis on modern approaches to Software System Engineering & Architecture, Data Science & AI Systems, the conference's objective was to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of the most recent scientific advancements, case studies, and practical insights in the field of information technology. The participants gained valuable insights about new trends, cutting-edge technologies, and practical approaches to dealing with the evolving challenges in the IT industry.

"The knowledge-intensive field of software engineering requires a scientific and practical approach from all players, both academics and professionals. It was a great pleasure for us as EPAM School of Digital Technologies scientists to have top-notch researchers attend the conference. The Software Engineering and Architecture section had a unique atmosphere thanks to presentations by software architecture experts Rick Kazman and Len Bass, as well as the involvement of Yury Antoniuk, VP, Head of EPAM in Central and Eastern Europe," stressed Sergiy Tytenko, Deputy Dean of the EPAM School of Digital Technologies.

The "AI Challenge 2024" mini-hackathon, which was held on the opening day of the conference and was open to experts and students from different universities, is particularly noteworthy. Participants applied GenAI interaction techniques to rapidly prototype AI solutions for education. And we are happy to announce the winners: Senior League – Volodymyr Knyr, Vakhtanh Chikhladze, Serhii Veretiuk; Junior League – Sofia Viazovska, Kateryna Abramova, Yevheniia Kaspruk, Kseniia Maranda, Vladyslav Konrad (AUK Bachelor students)! We extend our heartfelt congratulations to you all!” emphasized Alexandra Antoniouk, Dean of the EPAM School of Digital Technologies.

"The international scientific conference "Information Technology - New Horizons (ITNH 2024), which we held for the first time on AUK campus, became a real place for leading scientists and industry experts from all over the world to exchange ideas and spread new knowledge. It is a tremendous pleasure for us and the EPAM School of Digital Technologies to be the driver of scientific development in the field of IT. The emphasis on cyber security, artificial intelligence, and data science and their application in various sectors is crucial to preparing Ukrainian professionals and students, including our graduates, for relevant roles in Ukraine and the world. After the war, I am confident that Ukraine will be a leader in many technological fields," emphasized Jacek Leskow, AUK Rector.

We thank all participants who joined this conference and all AI challenge teams for their involvement. Sharing with you a photo report from the event at the link.
