AUK Master’s students of Global Management took a part in a second meeting as a part of the course on the Global Security System “Challenges and Actors” led by the Program Director, Mark Voygerr. This time we welcomed the guest speaker, Ambassador Vygaudas Ušackas, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and former EU Ambassador to Moscow and Kabul.
While addressing the students, Ambassador Vygaudas Usackas outlined that during his last years in the diplomatic service, he used to stress that EU and Russia cannot build effective relations due to a vast difference in values and views on security issues.
Ambassador Usackas discussed with our students such topics as: Ukraine as an integral part of a “Europe Whole and Free”, Putin’s goals vis-a-vis Ukraine, the current situation 7 months into the war; and the European (in particular Baltic) response and support for Ukraine; Ukraine's path to victory; and what more is necessary for Ukraine to win and how to achieve that quicker.
We are highly thankful Ambassador Vygaudas Usackas for his deep insights and reflective talk with AUK students as well as Mark Voyger, Program Director of Global Management AUK for organizing the meeting.
