On September 24–25, 2025, Oksana Ilienko, Head of the Academic Policy Department at AUK, participated in the Times Higher Education Eurasia Universities Summit. This significant event took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center, a historical symbol of modern Baku.
THE Eurasia Universities Summit 2025 was held in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Education and the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, gathering over 300 participants from more than 150 universities and organizations across the Eurasian space, including university leaders, policymakers and researchers from across Europe and Asia.
The main topic of discussion among the participants was the impact of transnational research on the development of social and economic progress, as well as the issue of connecting continents: cooperation and innovation in higher education.
"Participation in the Times Higher Education Eurasia Universities Summit 2025 is a great honor and a landmark event for me. An event of this level, which brought together over 300 participants from 150 universities and organizations from across the Eurasian space, opens up opportunities to gain new knowledge, exchange international experience, and establish new connections," emphasized Oksana Ilienko.
Participation in THE Eurasia Universities Summit is important for ensuring international cooperation and aligning the strategies of the Times Higher Education Eurasia Universities with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in order to strengthen cross-border partnerships to stimulate innovation, international research collaboration, mobility programs, and knowledge exchange in addressing common global challenges.
