American University Kyiv, in partnership with Piraeus Bank in Ukraine, is pleased to announce the successful completion of the first English language course for veterans under the "English Language Upskilling Program for Ukrainian Veterans." This initiative is designed to support military personnel, security and defense sector workers, as well as veterans in improving their English language proficiency to the B1 level.
Throughout the course, participants engaged with thematic modules and actively practiced their speaking skills, allowing them to discuss real-life scenarios and collaborate in teams. This cohort included 15 participants, who also met for two offline sessions to connect and socialize.

Iryna Stakhurska, a member of the Management Board at Piraeus Bank in Ukraine, noted that the certificate ceremony is a significant milestone, representing not just the completion of studies but a new chapter of personal development and opportunity.
"It is a great honor for us to be part of this initiative and to personally congratulate our veterans on this achievement. Today’s event is not just about certificates; it is about strength, perseverance, and the commitment to move forward. You have already done so much for our country, and today you continue to grow, explore new horizons, and invest in your own future," she emphasized.
She added that Piraeus Bank is proud of these veterans and considers the support of such initiatives a core aspect of its corporate social responsibility.
Program participant Heorhii Zaitsev shared his experience, quoting, "The limits of my language mean the limits of my world," underscoring the importance of language skills in broadening one's horizons.

Piraeus Bank in Ukraine remains committed to supporting projects aimed at the development, education, and integration of veterans into civilian life. We congratulate all participants on their success and wish them continued achievements!
