On November 6, 2025, Oksana Ilienko, Head of the Academic Policy Department at American University Kyiv, participated in a regional seminar from the series “The Current State of the Quality Assurance System in Higher Education in Ukraine: Challenges and Prospects,” organized by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA) and hosted by the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.”
The key topics of the seminar focused on improving the quality assurance system in higher education: the development of internal quality assurance systems, post-accreditation monitoring of educational programs, the application of the "List of Significant Deficiencies," the specifics of forming educational programs for regulated professions, and recommendations for universities regarding cross-border quality assurance. These topics were presented by the Head of the National Agency, Andriy Butenko, and the Deputy Heads, Olena Yeremenko, Bohdan Morklyanyk, Ivan Nazarov, and Natalia Stukalo.
The practical part of the seminar included a workshop titled "Experience of Accreditation of Educational Programs by Foreign Agencies," prepared by Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Participants familiarized themselves with the tools and procedures of European quality assurance agencies and discussed practical steps for interaction with them based on university experience.
This regional seminar was the last in the cycle “The Current State of the Quality Assurance System in Higher Education in Ukraine: Challenges and Prospects”, which the National Agency implemented during 2024-2025.
