Software Engineering in the Age of AI at American University Kyiv
Recently, American University Kyiv brought together industry experts, faculty, students, and alumni to discuss one of the defining questions of our time: how artificial intelligence is reshaping software engineering, software architecture, product development, and the future role of engineers.

A huge thank you to our expert speakers who made this discussion so impactful:
- Dmytro Ovcharenko, CTO of Defense AI Center “A1”, Ministry of Defense of Ukraine – for sharing practical insights on the real-world application of AI in software architecture design and decision-making.
- Vyacheslav Koldovskyy, Competence Manager at SoftServe, expert and trainer in AI-oriented SDLC and modern software engineering practices – for discussing the role of AI across the Software Development Life Cycle and how AI tools are transforming the everyday work of software engineering teams.

During the event, Sergiy Tytenko, Dean of the EPAM School of Digital Technologies at AUK, presented the unique features of AUK's Master of Software Engineering program, with a particular focus on how AI is integrated into software architecture, engineering leadership, and modern approaches to building digital products.
As Sergiy perfectly summarized,
"Events like this are truly inspiring because they give us an opportunity to explore real-world practices during the ongoing AI transformation, exchange perspectives, and engage in meaningful professional discussions. This is exactly what makes such gatherings at AUK so valuable and energizing."

A sincere thank you to the students and alumni of our Master of Software Engineering program who joined the panel discussion and shared their hands-on experience working with AI in real projects: Vlad Saniuk, Volodymyr Gleba, Nikita Skrypchenko.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the great atmosphere, asked thoughtful questions, and stayed open to new ideas. See you at our next events!
