Organized by third-cohort AUK Global Internship Program students Viktoriia Potomska (BGM 2027) and Angelina Marusych (BBA 2027), the event brought together nearly the entire company’s finance department — around 60 people, including many senior leadership representatives.

The gathering combined a traditional Ukrainian lunch from the iconic New York restaurant Veselka with a deep discussion about Ukraine's past, present, and future.

"I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to present Ukraine’s history and the reality of life during the war, a life where hardship and loss coexist with resilience, hope, and the everyday moments of joy that continue to bring people together. I felt extremely excited and thankful that so many people wanted to know more about Ukraine beyond news articles," shared Viktoriia Potomska.

The presentation centered around the theme "Ukraine Beyond the News," covering the country's history, the realities of wartime life, and business perspectives:

  • Historical and Live Context: Viktoriia Potomska gave a brief overview of Ukraine's rich history and how the country balances the challenges of war with mutual daily support. Listeners were especially moved by the story of the Kyiv McDonald's at Lukianivka, which has reopened for the seventh time after missile strikes.
  • Business, Technology, and the Future: Angelina Marusych spoke about industries that are rapidly growing despite the war — ranging from IT and digital sectors to defense technology, alongside prospects for Ukraine's post-war reconstruction.

"It was an honor to represent my country at Blackstone and tell the story of Ukrainians who, despite the war, keep creating — building unique technologies that didn’t exist five years ago. Ukraine isn’t just surviving this war; it’s becoming a hub of innovation, and I’m proud to have had the chance to share that story," noted Angelina Marusych.

The feedback exceeded all expectations: attendees stayed until the very end, asked thoughtful questions, and discovered much about Ukrainian history and potential. The event became a shining example of how young Ukrainian leaders shape a proper perception of our country on the international stage
