From November 19 to 21, Professor of the EPAM School of Digital Technologies at AUK, Viktor Putrenko, participated in an international conference titled “Cross-Border Sustainable Renewable Energy Acceleration in Ukraine - Mapping Synergy Renewable Energy Acceleration Areas between Ukraine, EU Member States, and Moldova.” The conference took place at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The purpose of the conference was to identify ways to effectively develop renewable energy in cross-border areas based on an interdisciplinary approach to modeling and analyzing the situation from the perspective of energy sector development, economics, information technologies, and modern modeling approaches.

The pilot areas of the project from the Ukrainian side included 5 regions: Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, and Vinnytsia regions. These regions were selected due to their strategic location along the borders of Ukraine with the EU and Moldova, as well as their ecological significance. This area covers extensive nature reserves and has significant renewable energy potential, serving as a central point for promoting Ukraine's green recovery, energy transition, and integration into the EU energy market.

During the conference, Viktor Putrenko presented information approaches to modeling the potential of renewable energy by assessing and analyzing factors and criteria for the placement of generating capacities using artificial intelligence tools.
