AUK invites you to the Research Seminar “Wellbeing and Continuous Education Needs of Ukrainian Mental Health Providers during the War” with Viktor Burlaka, PhD in Social Work and Clinical Psychology, director of the AUK Bachelor of Psychology program.
Seminar topic: "Wellbeing and Continuous Education Needs of Ukrainian Mental Health Providers during the War".
The ongoing war in Ukraine has placed immense psychological strain on both the general population and the mental health professionals tasked with providing care. During the seminar, we will examine the wellbeing and professional development needs of Ukrainian mental health providers working in a context of prolonged crisis. We will also talk about the impact of traumas, burnout, and secondary traumatic stress, while also highlighting the necessity of continuous education in evidence-based trauma interventions.
Drawing on emerging research and practitioner experiences, this talk discusses strategies for enhancing provider resilience and developing training initiatives to strengthen Ukraine’s mental health workforce during and after the war.
