These days, American University Kyiv hosted in AUK campus a two-day Forum "Ukrainian Cultural Heritage: #ДійЗадляСпадщини", dedicated to the preservation and restoration of Ukrainian heritage during full-scale russian aggression against Ukraine.

At the forum, representatives of international organizations, Ukrainian authorities and expert’s community discussed the conceptual dimension of cultural heritage, international and Ukrainian experience of its protection during the war, methods of documenting crimes committed by russia against Ukraine, as well as issues of digitization and advocacy.

"For us at American University Kyiv, it is highly symbolic to host a forum on cultural heritage. This issue is important for us, as AUK campus is a one of the best examples of monumental art of 60s and its restoration by AUK. Today we are proud of having this great opportunity to educate our young generation in such historical and art space, as well as to restore, preserve and popularize the Ukrainian heritage, such as River Port building. Our mission as an educational institution is to be a platform for experts’ dialogue in order to generate new solutions and innovations in preserving the cultural heritage of Ukraine for future generations, especially during the war," said Oleksii Shershnov, AUK Vice-President.
