Last week AUK had the distinct privilege of hosting a veritable star of global security affairs, a great friend of Ukraine - General David Petraeus.
During AUK Talk, General Petraeus shaded his thoughts regarding the successes of Ukraine in a war with russia. AUK is thankful to General David Petraeus not only for these visionary talks but also for his generous support of the AUK Scholarship Fund for Children of Fallen Heroes initiated by AUK President Dan Rice. General Petraeus supported it with a full scholarship and mentorship for one of our new AUK students, the son of Fallen Hero, Arsen Snitsar. Arsen's father is one of those heroes who sacrificed his life defending Ukraine during the great war. All of us at AUK and all Ukrainian people are eternally grateful for his service, bravery, and sacrifice.
The Medal for Valor was bestowed posthumously by Major General Vladislav Klochkov, Head of the Main Department of Moral and Psychological Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
General Petraeus outlined, "We have a moral obligation to look after the children of the fallen patriots. The biggest way to lift the burden of the family of the fallen heroes is to provide the opportunity for his or her son or daughter to get a quality education. This is what the fallen patriot would have wanted for this child".
We are thankful to General Petraeus for his contribution to the education of Ukraine's future leaders, for his belief in AUK and Ukraine!
