Why do people avoid psychological help?
In April 2024, the Institute for Behavioral Studies at AUK together with the sociological group "Rating" conducted a sociological survey on Rating Online platform to find out what Ukrainians think about psychological help, what obstacles do they face, and what can prevent them from seeking support when they need it.
Based on the research results, here are some key facts:

- Main barriers: 70% believe that psychologists cannot help with all problems; 65% - high cost; 61% - it is not customary to see a psychologist in Ukraine.
- Stress levels are off the charts: 20% of respondents have high stress on the PSS-10 scale, especially women and young people.
- War affects mental health: 66% have experienced separation, 48% have witnessed shelling, 31% have lost loved ones. This only emphasises the importance of psychological support.
